I went to work at Southwestern Bell the summer after graduation. It was just going to be a summer job….but I ended up working there for 32 years. I retired at the end of 2000 as a Senior Human Resources Manager. I loved my job, but love retirement better! I have one son who lives in NYC and loves it there! It seems like I’ve spent most of my retirement socializing! I’m always meeting friends for coffee, lunch, dinner, movies, traveling, etc. I spend most of my socializing with my SE buddies. We have been on cruises, road trips and have done lots of things around OKC. What a fun bunch of girls!! My life is very good and God has blessed me in many ways.
I hope everyone comes to the reunion….it will be one that you don’t want to miss!!

Grandfather of two boys with a 3rd grandchild due in June 2008.
Well for the last 40 years, I have first and foremost been a mom. Shawn was born in February of 68 before we graduated in May. Chad was born in April, 1972. I meet Alvin in December of 72 and we were married in November of 74. He had Michael who is just 3 months younger than Shawn. We then added Melissa in November of 81 and Ashley (my leap year baby) in February of 84. I worked for Scrivner, Inc. for 11 years (69-80) and retired at the age of 30. I have spent a lot of time in PTA and volunteering at schools. I retired from that in 2002 when Ashley graduated.
I am now a full time grandma (nanny). We have 10 grandkids. Shawn has three Hunter (13) and twins girls Lauren and Lacie (9). Michael has three also Joshua (15) Jessica (12) Jacob (10). Chad has 2 boys Mason (6) and Walker (2). Ashley has 2 Cayson (5) and Chloe (2). Melissa is my college graduate, has a career in Juvenile justice for the state of Oklahoma.
Alvin and I have lived east of Noble, OK for the last 19 years. We have 120 acres and raise cattle. Alvin has retired and we are planning on traveling around the US.
I like to read and play computer games in my spare time, that is when I'm not playing with grandkids.
My family is still in the OKC area. My parents are both still alive and doing well. Don (class of 65), Joye (class of 70), Dena (class of 74) and Delisa (class of 77). Yes, we had a Welch at Southeast for a long time. Then my nephew Lance (class of 2001).
Have enjoyed working on our class reunions and trying to locate our lost classmates over the last 30 years. Hope to see everyone at the reunion.
After graduation I attended OU with a degree in Spanish and a teaching certificate (thanks Ms. White for giving me my start! I actually did my student teaching at SE with her my sr. year).I met my future husband, Terry, my sophmore year while living in the dorms. While he was serving in the Army after we graduated from OU, I taught one year at Crooked Oak. And what do old cheerleaders become? Pep club sponsors, of course! We married in ' 73 and spent 1 1/2 years in Wiesbaden, Germany where he played baseball for the Air Force team. After his tour, we moved to Norman and wouldn't live anywhere else. I taught a few years in middle school and then a few years as a Spanish teaching assistant for 4th and 5th graders in 3 different elementary schools. Now I substitute teach -mostly for autism and multi-handicapped classes (I'm old now so I can be picky!)
We have 2 gorgeous daughters, 2 fabulous sons-in-law, one beautiful and perfect grandaughter, the sweetest golden retriever on earth, and 4 darling grand dogs! Kayci, Austin, and Ava live in Frisco, Tx. and Eric and Shelly just moved to Durant, Ok. We're excited that they are both within a 2 1/2 hour drive.
Most of our free time is spent traveling to see family or the Sooners. We have season tickets to football and men's and women's basketball. We try not to miss a bowl game or Big 12 championship if possible.
A few memories: Del Rancho; Across the Street; cafeteria cinnamon rolls; Darla breaking her arm right before camp (but Gayle Grider got to cheer with us the rest of the year so that was cool); Mr. Holland's "stick"; the "lovely" gymsuits in PE; walking the halls in the a.m. (who decided everyone would go counter-clockwise?);all the dances in the girl's gym; and yearbook signing( we actually got to go out in the courtyard!)
And after seeing how long this bio is, I realize why I got into so much trouble talking in class!! See you at the reunion! ===========================================================================
